This project provides data that describe and quantify the condition of marine riparian habitat in Puget Sound. This information supports the development of habitat indicators for Puget Sound, specifically through the Puget Sound Partnership’s (PSP) Vital Sign and Salmon Habitat Indicator programs. Developed in collaboration with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), PSP, and the Puget Sound Ecosystem Monitoring Program (PSEMP), the project builds on existing protocols and integrates regional datasets with regional knowledge and expertise. These polygons are attributed with the amount of forested area within the polygon as a percent of total area (recorded in the “_mean” attribute). The polygons are further attributed with multiple regional designations including Basin names, Lead Entity Areas, and WRIAs. The 2017 layer utilized shorelines and forest land cover data from 2017. While the 2013 layer relied on land cover data from 2013, but shoreline data from 2009.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV> |
